Form & Light

Popressionism Villa, is a space specially designed for 2 clients, Vivian who is sensitive to light and Michelle who is a painter. The word ‘Popressionism’ is from the combination of the two words: Pop (pop art) and Expressionism. This is because the style chosen is Expressionism as both clients are full of characters and have very expressive personalities. Both the exterior and interior of Popressionism Villa is designed accordingly to the clients’ hobbies, needs and tastes. It is made up of different folded geometric shapes. The colours used are striking lemon yellow and deep blue, the pop art colours in order to show a strong contrast visual, and they are applied diagonally. The concept chosen is distortion of geometric shapes, mainly the rectangle, square and triangle.
Popressionism Villa is a two and a half story where the upper floors are much more exposing to sunlight compared to the lower floor. The lower floor is very enclosed except for the entrance and the backyard (Photography Studio). Yet, the rooms at the lower floor are still exposing to air by the distinctive window.
